Believe it or not one of my favorite ways to spend time is with my sisters and their families. I know 10 years ago those words would never have even crossed my mind but what can I say I finally grew up! The 24th of July weekend we got to take a road trip to Mandy and Tyler's new house to see their very adorable 3 little girls and be there when they blessed their newest arrival Cloe! And as an added bonus Tara and Kevin came with their whole crew and my Mom and 2 youngest brothers showed up !! HEAVEN!! Seriously you can stop going into shock now I told you I've matured!! I think that hands down one of the better moments of this trip was when Tyler pulled out the ultimate fly swatter! I kid you not this thing was a bug catching fiend which is good since Matt informed me today that every time a fly lands it throws up. Yep so grateful for that juicy little nugget of knowledge. Thanks Matt! Anyone else have flash backs to Gabby's dead fly collection (insert gagging and shuddering!) Unfortunately the kids killed the fly catcher. Let's be honest it really didn't stand a chance against 12 kids under the age of 8 (yes I am including Jake in that count!) all competing for a turn to catch anything and everything that moved. It was only a matter of time till it kicked the bucket. Ahh well this will just give me something to look for to give to all of the families for Christmas. :) Another great moment was at the parade. And let me tell you I'm not exaggerating when I say that Monticello has more tractors then people and every single one of them was in that parade! Some of them were pretty stinkin cool and others maybe just stinkin since they were barely hosed off before they left the cow fields. Needless to say it was hilarious to watch all the kids run out in the middle of the road trying to get candy before anyone else. I was very impressed with how polite our little troop of kiddos were. They all made sure that everyone got something and were quick to share with their cousins when they were not quick enough. I always knew that my sisters were good mom's it was just nice to kick back and enjoy chatting with my fam and not have to worry about the kids cause they were all getting along so good. After all that's what you want on a vacation isn't it. To have fun snuggling babies that when they poop you can give them back to their parents, spoil rotten the older ones to seal your place as the favorite and laugh your self sick with your sisters and their husbands. It was the perfect weekend for us, so nice in fact that I'm having a hard time finding some sort of sarcastic remark to balance out all of this sugary gooeyness. Hmmmm maybe I hit my head harder then I thought when I was putting Gabby's bed together. So here are some pictures of the weekend. I promise to be back to my normal non gooshy self in my next post.;)
