Salt in the wounds

With the first peeks of the sun this week I decided that I was going to do some very much needed yard work. So on Friday I put in all our sprinkler lines, mowed the lawn, tilled the garden area, and had close to 20 kids playing over. Then as if that wasn't enough I put in 8 more hours on Saturday forming my rows in the garden and getting my weed fabric in place and again we had roughly 20 kids playing over. I don't know how it happened but between our house, Erickson's and the Olschewski's it is party central! All those kids just run back and forth like a pack of animals. Needless to say come Sunday I was really struggling to keep my eyes open during sacrament meeting. Brian noticed that I was just completely burned out (it may have been the pool of drool soaking his shoulder) but he decided that we needed some quality family time before he put in some long hours writing his paper that he had been putting off all week. So my most awesome husband packed lunches and took us all to Antelope island for the afternoon! This was the first time our kids had ever been to a "real beach". Needless to say they were very excited to go to an island! Here are some pictures for you all to enjoy. And no it was not raining. I just forgot to reapply sunscreen during my 20 hours of hard manual labor in the yard and my whole neck was covered in blisters so I was avoiding the sun! And FYI water that is 5 times saltier then the ocean feels great on the feet but awful on a sunburn! Oh and it doesn't come out of navy blue shorts. . . . so now they are gray!
